That Feeling...

Anybody who plays the game "Mirror's Edge" knows that feeling when the runner cops are after you. Hearing those footsteps behind you, secretly hoping they are not as close as they sound. Then that despair as you loose a bit of time with a slight stumble. And then that gigantic urge to look behind you, but knowing that if you do, and if they Are as close as they sound, You will surely get killed.

So on you go, Blindly knowing Who, What, and Where they are. Running on, and on. Hearing those pulsing footsteps behind you, struggling with your own mind. Ripping your mental state to a 'Calm Panic'.

Then that sinking feeling as you suddenly notice you have been cornered on the edge of a 8 story building. But Adrenaline pushes you to keep thinking, and moving. And you dodge past the runner cops half a second to spare. And with your heart still racing, you take a leap off the edge of the building, somehow knowing that something will Have to come and save you. and in the middle of that leap, Everything stops, your heart, the sounds, until time itself seems to freeze.

Then finally, you take notice of a large soft landing zone on top of a large stack of steel.
Falling towards it you totally forget about your little friends up at the top of the building.
Landing, You don't even bother looking up. To see the runners, Knowing that what you had just accomplished could not be repeated.
